One: She has such delicate complexion so soft and fair with long blond hair and sparkling blue-green eyes.
And she is wearing her sunhat; shading off the bright shining sun, while laughing and dancing under the pearly skies.
So clasping hands together we hope and pray she will come home soon, smiling like pretty little flowers, blossoming in April, May and June
Two: Let not the bombs of the fanatics
blow you from the front pages,
nor floods submerge your face
in the evening bulletin.
Wherever there is love and concern
you will be seen,
in the kasbah where sandalled feet
hurry to devotion, in the streets
of the island from where
Knights sailed against the infidel.
You will appear in the dreams
of countless in all latitudes,
in the palace by the wadi,
the cabin by the frozen sea.
Though you have not been found
you are not lost to us,
being constantly in our thoughts.
We will not countenance
the violation of your innocence,
and pray that one day
the dream of you
walking again with your family
will become reality.

Three: God is the God of time and eternity --- all times, past, present and future are before Him as an eternal "present". No prayer, therefore, is too late, nor must we surrender to despair and cease praying. God has blessed Kate and Gerry McCann in their own dear daughter, Madeleine. May He set His Holy Angels to camp round about her to deliver her from all harm and lead her into all holiness. Let us pray for the children of the world --- they are OUR children too --- every one of them. God keep you, Madeleine
Four: Don't Quit
When things go wrong, as they sometimes will
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill
When the funds are low and the debts are high
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh
When care is pressing you down a bit
Rest, you must - but don't you quit
Life is queer with its twists and turns
As everyone of us sometimes learns
And many a failure turns about
When he might have won had he stuck it out
Don't give up, though the pace seems slow
You might succeed with another blow
Success is failure turned inside out, the silver tint of the clouds of doubt
And you never can tell how close you are, It may be near when it seems so far
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit
It's when things seem worst, That you MUST NOT QUIT!
Five: The gods
"Tick tick, tock, tick tick tock," said the howling wind, as the sun began to reign. "I am yours my dear, I am yours my dear," the wind continued, softly blowing over and over again; "I am yours tonight, and you are mine. Though not just for tonight, but for all eternity, until the end of time."
Then the sun smiled brightly, "But you know I can't come out at night, please go away. Haven't you anything better to say?"
"We are gods my dear, and God's - we cannot die, because gods cannot die, they are God's. That is why."
Then the sun bowed, under a passing cloud. Looked down and said, "And that is why we envy the animals, unlike us they die eternally, and find eternal rest. Truly they are blest."
Six: A Red Rose For a Boy:
She walked just a short distance behind her young daughter pushing her pram, while her baby slept silently. The trees creaked in the wind; the moon cast light and dark shadows, through open spaces.
I walked past her like a ghost at midnight. She was fearless and distant, carrying flowers for his early grave. The taxi had speedily seen to that.
His bicycle was still there: lying on the ground near where the flowers are now placed for him, her thirteen year old boy. Over the hill is a little church; but it is here in the wood I found God, not there.
