has rothley got a dunking stool, if so should we drag kate and gerry and see if they sink or swim. the gutter press we can maybe forgive as they have been largely supportive but the bbc no, this evening they speculated that if the social services got involved as is apparently routine the twins could be taken into care. the fact that they neglected to add until after the main scandalised headline was that it was routine and it did not warrant a mention. as i sent in my first message which i think i might have not sent correctly we have have straight away as the great British nation gone to guilty until proved innocent and just because someone is not weeping and wailing in front of the cameras makes them guilty we should as a nation stand up and demand that this case is taken seriously and who the hell is looking for madeleine. support to the mccanns all five of them x

The detective handling the Madeleine McCann case is under investigation on claims that he tortured the mother of another missing girl into confessing that she killed her own child.

Chief Inspector Goncalo Amaral is accused of hiding evidence that three other police officers tortured Leonor Cipriano into confessing that she murdered her daughter, Joana Cipriano, three years ago. Leonor is serving 16 years in jail for the murder of her daughter that she later denied. Cipriano suffered injuries that the cops claim she sustained after throwing herself down a flight of stairs at the police station in an attempt to kill herself.

Amaral and the three officers are accused to fabricating evidence to prove Cipriano killer her daughter and concealing evidence. All four men deny the allegations. They may be forced to appear at a criminal hearing over the accusations. Makes you wonder, doesn't it?

My heart and prayers go out to the McAnn's. How sad that the Portuguese police have taken the cowardly method and framed this family due to their (police)inability to protect citizens and visitors. How intrusive of British Social Services to even consider taking away their twins. Will think twice about visiting Portugal again.

I hope and pray the world will believe the mc cann family and most important little Madeline will be found safe and sound.I totally believe the mc cann family and am disgusted the way the Portuguese police are handling the case. I am never going to Portugal again especially after listening the way Kate was intimated and humiliated by the Portuguese police and natives. Keep the faith please and we the Irish are behind ye..xx

There are not words I could possibly express that would say enough of my heart felt sorrow for you both. As a mother of 2 young boys I can only imagine what you may be going through, and that is without the awful accusation you are so unfairly having now to face. I whole heartedly support you both. I also pray for you. As many have said try and stay stronger as the police are wrong and Maddie will need you to be stronger and so will those adorable twins. Very much in my thoughts at this very difficult time XX

Kate and Gerry,
Just reading through a selection of the messages of support you have shows how much your situation has touched the lives of millions. You have conducted yourselves with incredible dignity and are an inspiration to others going through anything like the hurt you must be going through.
I hope that now you're back home you feel a renewed sense of support knowing you are in a country who is behind you and believes in your innocence. I pray for Maddy and the rest of your family.
No-one deserves to go through one ounce of what you're going through.
My thoughts and prayers.

I want to pass on my best wishes to the McCann family. I am angry about how Kate and Gerry are being treated by the unprofessional, inadequate Portuguese Police and hope Kate and Gerry find comfort in each other, their close knit family and their beautiful twins at this terrible time away from Madeleine.
