francesca From como (italy) | Signed On: Thu 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 CST I'm writing this message to you both because I now understand how you feel... I suffer for people i do and don't know, i always tell my mom that my sister and I want to give lots of our things to poor children and when i found out that Madeleine was abducted my mom and I did a big job printing pictures and put them in her car. I also wrote some messages and left them around town. I just wanted to say that i am extremely sorry :'( and that you don't have to worry because, as I read in the myth of Pandora's box, in the end, at the bottom of the box, the only thing left was hope... i know it isn't a great exemple but I have to admit, I'm only 12... so, anyway, keep hope in your hearts and feel the power of love, all this will always make her be beside her... yours sincerely Francesca |

Lydia Reid From Edinburgh | Signed On: Thu 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 CST Dear Kate and Jerry, I cannot even imagine how you must feel I do not believe any of us can, we are not there. From experience though I do know how much courage it must have taken considering the fearful state you must be in to use the media to find your precious little daughter. Unfortunately the media has two sides to it as you well know. Out here though you still have so many people wishing the very best outcome for you and for Maddie, so many people still saying prayers for all of you. That is all most of us can do, light our candles as I do when I light mine for my two boys and pray that the outcome for Maddie and for you will be the best. I hope all who watch your website will light those candles just go into your nearest church, catholic or not, God will hear you, and I believe that a nation united in prayer can make a difference. I wish you the very best of everything and peace in your hearts in this new year. |

Ruth From Nottingham | Signed On: Thu 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 CST To you both. You are in my thoughts every day. When I look at my own daughter, what you are going through is unimaginable. You seem to have a beautiful family and you seem so 'normal' which makes what's happening so much more difficult to watch. My daily prayer for you is that you will hold your little girl again. May you know God's comfort and love. With heart felt sincerity and support. |

Hannaleen van der Me From Salisbury, Wiltshire, UK | Signed On: Thu 01 Jan 1970 00:00:00 CST Dear Gerry and Kate, You do not know me, but I am one of your staunch followers and supporters and admire your courage and fortitude. I am just a teacher (Director of Music at an independent school in Salisbury, Wiltshire) originally from South Africa and have been in the UK for six years now. I hope to get British citizenship next year. My heart has gone out to you both since Madeleine disappeared. I am appalled at some people's responses and have wanted to write to you from the beginning saying that although it is not easy, you must never ever give up hope. You are lovely, loving parents and that is obvious to everyone in their right mind. As a teacher I work with children every day and know how precious they are. I hope and pray that Madeleine will be safe and come home. This message comes from my heart. Kindest regards Hannaleen van der Merwe
