| Dorothy Reade | Signed On: Wed 30 Apr 2008 23:13:34 CDT Dear Kate and Gerry, Tonight I watched your documentary with great sadness. I was so touched by the strength you both show. The past year has been so heart breaking and difficult for you, and I am disgusted at the way the Portuguese police have mishandled the search for Madeleine, wasting the opportunity to find her quickly. Your treatment by the media is appalling. You deserve non of that. As a mum and grandmother, I would like to offer you my support and wholy agree that the 'Amber Alert' system would really help if it was installed throughout Europe and beyond. |

Liz From Scotland | Signed On: Wed 30 Apr 2008 23:13:23 CDT Hi Kate & Gerry I really hoped you both would have found Madeleine by now but don't give up hope. I once lost my little boy in a shopping centre for about five/ten minutes but it felt more like hours so i just can't begin to imagine what you are both going through. Well done on pushing for the amber alert, its a brilliant idea and i cant see any reason why it should'nt go ahead. I wish you both all the very best. Take care Liz xxx |

jodie From worcestreshire | Signed On: Wed 30 Apr 2008 22:51:02 CDT Hi, i have just watched your documentary, and i would just like to tell you how moved i feel again by your story. The one thing i noticed that you have hope in your voices and that you use Maddie in the present tense, which is excellent, i firmley believe that Maddie is out there waiting to be found!!! I have a 3 yr old little boy myself and i cant imagine how you feel, but i have for the past year been thinking of your Maddie, and i have been praying for her safe return. I will continue to do so until she is brought home safe to you and your family. Love and best wishes x |

| Lianne | Signed On: Wed 30 Apr 2008 22:50:12 CDT Hi Kate and Gerry, I have just viewed your itv documentary. I cannot begin to comprehend the pain and frustration you both must feel each waking day knowing your little angel is still missing, and knowing what a dreadful and disgusting light the press and the portugese police have shed on you. They have a lot to answer for, and their no comment approach says it all. Hopefully the amber alert system will put right the terrible lack of help and support that is out there for people plunged into this position. I hope you can stay strong and one day soon your daughter will come home. God bless you both, my thoughts are with you and madeleine. xxxxxxx |

Laurie Dennington From Nottingham | Signed On: Wed 30 Apr 2008 22:45:31 CDT I just want to say how much I admire Gerry and Kate, particualry Kate. As a mother of four year old and six year old girls I think she has done an amazing and wonderful job of keeping herself together. They have kept their focus firmly on finding their daughter through all the lies and hate mail they have recieved. Whilst I have always been supportive reading and article in The Sun by Jon Gaunt sent me into a fury unknown, he is obviously a total and utter idiot. I sent an email to the paper expressing my disgust that they had even printed his vile article. People should remember this is about a missing child and not about whether or not her parents are working class or upper class. I am working class and have only the deepest sympathy and feelings of love for the family. Please be aware that their are people who are 100% behind you. You made a mistake and do not deserve to be vilified the way you have been. |

Janice From Scotland | Signed On: Wed 30 Apr 2008 22:23:23 CDT Hello Kate and Gerry, I have just been watching your TV documentary which was incredibly moving. Your strength and love for Madeleine is incredible and when she is found she will realise all the love and anguish which has never faltered for a moment. You spoke again of the pain of guilt, but who could possibly have imagined what was to happen? There must come a time to let go of the guilt, you are only human and what happened was never your fault. Freeing yourself of this guilt will strengthen you to continue in your fight to find your lovely daughter. It is for Madeleine that you must allow yourselves to cast away your guilt. All these thousands of messages are a testament to this. We are continuing to think of your pain and to pray for you and your family, and for Madeleine's safe return to you. Bless you. |
